The Value of Values

Have you forgotten who you are? It’s easy to do.

They say the devil’s in the details, and we think they’re right! There are proposals to complete, customers to check on, emails, messages,  voicemails to reply to, and meetings to attend.

The details of work life can be all-consuming, making it easy to lose sight of what matters most. When we work without a connection to our values, there is less energy, satisfaction, and a sense of purpose.

There’s also less story and vision in the company conversations, leading to lackluster, fact-centered marketing and sales conversations.

That’s why we include a module on values when we work with customers in our IT Marketing Foundations Program.  This module is part of developing the brand’s voice (personal and corporate) so that we can authentically share the voice of the people we represent.

The values work helps us do that, but it also rejuvenates those who do the values exercises with us. You can hear the change in their voices and the look in their eyes when they remember what matters most in their work.

We love watching the reawakening!

If you haven’t thought about your values recently, we highly recommend looking at Brene Brown’s Dare to Lead Values List to identify your top 3 values. You may also consider working with us to fully develop your brand voice in our IT Marketing Foundations program.
